| Hi Phil, I got them off Ebay, They are 98mm long and external diameter is 52mm and internal diameter 48mm, I ordered 4 of them because they was the only ones with reasonable postage and it gives me a couple of spares if I break any. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120717934990?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 | |

| I know this sounds a bit Neanderthal, but could you not just use something like an epoxy & just glue them on? | |

| Yeah I did think about glueing them on, but it would only have a ringed surface of about 1.5mm in contact, I've got an exhaust trim with an internal diameter same as the fork lowers and slides over perfectly, I've made a little cut out on the nut cover and that slides inside too, So I'll cut two rings about an inch long from it and slide them over the joint with a little glue inside. Failing that Jo keeps looking at it with a glint in her eye | |

| Here's both of them fitted, before I glue them on I'll do some photo's of how I fitted them.Cheap really as I ordered 4 nut covers, with postage they were £10 ish and £4.50 for a chrome exhaust end. | |

| After looking at these today, I noticed they slide further up the fork leg than mine do and cover the hole for the spindle, So I'm off to the car spares shop for another exhaust trim to make mine longer, with a notch cut out of the back to allow them to slide past the spindle hole, Damn ! that's another £4.50 on the cost of the job grrr not bad though considering the ones above cost the best part of £100. | |

| With yours being initialy fitted below the fork with the extra length you will be adding to pass the bolt, you will be very blingy on that front. | |

| Today while sat at the computer reading the paper, I noticed the exhaust tube I'd got earlier in the week, Hmmm I thought, I'll fit them today First of all I made a clamping device for the workmate so I could cut a straight line through the pipe, I just screwed some wood to it then mitered it at 90% so the hacksaw wouldn't drift off course. Next having cut the desired lengths of pipe, I cut a notch out of the back so it would slide further up the fork leg above the spindle hole. This is it slid on. Then I cut a notch out of the domed nut cover so it would slide inside the tube.(tube and cover are the same external diameter) This is how it looked. I thought it looked good, so I went ahead and did the other side to finish it off, then stuck them on with a little (weak) spray adhesive. so they'll come off if I need to remove the front wheel. I forgot to give them a polish before the photo, so please excuse the grubby finger prints. | |

| That looks ace Sim, proper top notch job done there mate When you said "tube and cover are the same external diameter" did you mean tube internal & cover external measurements are the same? | |

Cheers Guys No Crash, both external diameters are the same, that's why a cut out needs doing on the cover, so it will push inside the tube. | |

| Sorry but I am getting confused now, you said about the covers "they won't slide over the bottom of the fork leg because the external diameter is the same as the fork leg itself" and you also say "both external diameters are the same, that's why a cut out needs doing on the cover, so it will push inside the tube" So does that mean that the internal measurement of the tube was thinner and that is why it was able to slide over the fork? if I am being a pain but if I am confused there is always a very very very slight chance that someone else just might be as well | |
