Would a Mustang seat from a 2009 C50 fit a 2008 M50? I dont see what the differences would be but maybe someone on here has tried this.

thanks

Where would be the best deal for one of these seats for my c800?
Should I send to the states [they go for around £240-270] but... there are import
and handling charges yea?
Or should I pay 'more' and use one of our discount guys here on the site?
I would think they are pretty rare on fleabay.

Scotteads
No they are not compatible.

Badger
There may be deals around but even with discount, I wouldn't hold up much hope of buying one of those in the UK at a reasonable price.
I would personally either: Buy from the states or show the desired result to a highly recommended upholsterer and have one made. I would still be inclined to buy from the states, others may disagree.

I was thinking the same Dave.
I have found these guys good in the past.

I did look at one at the local shop a while back, and the price was insane.

You can get your own seats altered for less than importing them Badger.
I had my C800 seats altered by Tony Archer at Huddersfield with gel pads & re-modelling at a cost of £200- & if you send him the pictures of those seats in your mail he'll say wether he can do it or come near to  what you want.

Very good point Peter, and you are guaranteed to get them back without all the extra money to pay for tax and postage.

Yes alfie thats right but it will cost Badger postage or fuel/time to get them to Tony's.
He likes to work in ready money as well as it makes it easier for him.

Custom seats very often look nice and at reasonable prices in comparison. Doe make you wonder though what a custom seat would cost in comparison to one of the mustang seat's if done in the same way as far a design goes.
I have no doubt upholsterers will do a good job but are the even in the same league is something I do have my doubts about. To make a seat fatter & wider and change the shape a bit is slightly different to the styling that goes into a Mustang. I would like to see the proof that they can make a similar quality seat of similar styling at a similar price, not just the comfy fat seat's as I have so far only seen from upholsterers.
Never personally seen a upholstered seat any where near the quality & style of those pictured above.

Ok, I don't know what Tony would charge, but here is the cost of above seat.
Buying one in the UK ... £444 [approx, shops vary of course]... without postage.
Buying one from the states ... £330 with postage and shipping insurance.

I don't know if I will have to pay any more at the delivery end, but another bonus,
is that I still have a seat on the bike at all times, and, I would think that the Mustang
seat could be sold fairly easily if I changed bikes.

Fair enough Dave & Badger as I was only suggesting an alternative to buying from abroad or wherever & there are always alternatives to all things.

Thanks for suggesting an alternative, we need different views. If we all thought the same way we would all have identical and unchanged bike.  All our opinions are valid and as worthy as any other, different people will always look for fractionally different things and for different reasons. The more input on any subject from different angles the better.

Yes, thanks for the posting Peter, if I lived nearer, I would certainly have looked into that further.
Thing is, this thread is here now, as all the others are, for future reference of new members.
