My 1977 Honda CB750 Four F1 Empty
PostSubject: My 1977 Honda CB750 Four F1   My 1977 Honda CB750 Four F1 Icon_minitimeTue Nov 10, 2015 10:44 pm

Heres a few pics of my 1977 Honda CB750 Four F1.

My dad had a few of these bikes, buying one brand new in 1978 and selling it when my mum became pregnant with me in 1981.

As a retirement present for my Dad earlier this year I bought one of these as a project for me and my old man to work on, With in a week the eager old bugger bought another one that was up and running (but not been on the road for 20+ Years) so we restored the first bike for myself so we have one each.

The F1's were only available in Red or Yellow, my Dad always had the red bikes so we have painted mine yellow so we have one of each.

The last time I checked online there were only 14 F1's registered on the road so I guess they are quite rare.

This is the bike when I bought it, it had been off the road for 25 years.

It came with these boxes of bits, Like a man size jig-saw.

These are the two bikes almost complete.

Both passed the MOT first time. We have rebuilt the top end of the yellow bike and its just a few oil seals away from being mint now

Beautiful bikes - This was my Dads first 'Jap' bike, him being an old school dedicated 'Brit' biker most of his life.  He loved the bike and went on to own many more 'Jap's - then sadly dementia took over and he bought into BMW's. He was riding till well into his 70's but stopped when it took longer for him to repair than the bike (only a couple of slow speed tumbles thankfully).  He loves my BOSS and would love to ride again, but sadly age and mobility is against him.  I'll show him your photo's- that'll bring a tear to his eyes.

Bloody lovely. At that time I had a Honda cb360, but really pined after its big brother.

This isn't my actual bike, but it was this colour...

Ah - those were the days. It was seeing one of these & a Z1 that made me want a bike in the first place.  The wheels on the red one are unusual - very nice

Thanks for all your comments guys My 1977 Honda CB750 Four F1 433968

DaveR i think the wheels on the red bike are Morrello Alloys or something, We have a pair of spokes but they need cleaning up over the winter.

Thanks John I hope it takes your dad on a ride down memory lane.

These bikes are the reason I disappeared from this forum for a while, every spare moment was spent in the garage, the first time me and my dad took them out was a very proud moment, 1 because of all the hard work, time and money that we had poured into the bikes and 2 to be able to ride along side my old dad

Lovely bikes. My dad bought a CB550 F1 as his first ever Japanese bike & was gob smacked at the speed, brakes, lights etc quality as he'd only ever had british bikes before it. He went on to own a couple of others including 2 GT380 Suzuki's like I had. It was a sad day for me when he said he did not want to ride again but I didn't push the subject as he still loved all my bikes like his own until dementia took his memory away...
