Hi guys, There are allot of posts dicussing windshield , but I`m still confused. Buying this on the web without trying it on first could mean lost money. I need some advice on the windshield and matching lightbars.

It's all down to budget Nils, it's as simple as that.
I have my one setup up pretty good but to get it right I made a lot of adjustments, moving it inwards, outwards, up & down on numerous occasions.
one of the things that makes a lot of people dislike them is that they don't take the time to find the sweet spot. when the sweet spot has been found the very best thing that can be done then is to add the lowers that very often attach the forks. When riding with a screen on you will actually find that any head buffeting is caused by wind that is coming from under the screen adding the lowers will eliminate this.
My screen is just about as perfect as it is possible to get it without the lowers so I haven't felt the need to buy lowers but I did think about it before I got the screen set up properly as I would get double vision at high speed when the screen was not in the best position.

Basically all I am saying is that I believe most screens will be ok if the time to set them up properly is taken and lowers are added if needed

Just to add to what Mr.I has said you can get screens with 2 fixing places also ones with 4 fixing places, it is generally agreed by posts on this subject that the screens with 4 fixing places are more secure.

And they are usually the bigger ones, which gives more rider comfort

I guess four fixing places would be a good sollution, what about brands are they more or less the same regarding quality. What about prefered shape of the windshiield, or lower shields for the fork. I guess m800 and the c800 could use the same shield?

Have a look on ebay they normally have a good selection shape, size and price wise, the shape and size is really down to personnal preferance but you can get a good idea on ebay as to what is out there.

Nils I went for theNational 2up fo mine. It costs quite a bit more but the selling point for was the rigid fork mount and the ability to unclip it without tools and store it away when I wanted to.

When I first got it I thought I would need lowers as there was quite a bit of buffetting at high speed but only on certain sections of the highway. I found that you could tweak the position by adjusting the brackets slightly and it all seems quite good now.

I can still notice the wind coming up from underneath the screen, lowers would fix that but it gets too damn hot over here to cut off all of your air flow.

The other plus is that I can get a chopped version of the screen for summer.

Well when I parked my bike for the winter teperature was 0,5 Celsius so we are living in some different climate zone :-). When you are struggeling to get cooled I`m struggelig to keep warm. But still the wind is a common key factor.

In September I went to Melbourne and back, about 1800ks each way. On the Tuesday morning I woke up to find ice on the bike in Goulbourn and on the following Sunday I was riding through Tweed Heads in 35 deg C. Talk about change in seasons.
