Sachs 800 PAIR valve removal Empty
PostSubject: Sachs 800 PAIR valve removal   Sachs 800 PAIR valve removal Icon_minitimeFri Feb 14, 2020 5:59 pm

Hi all,
my bike has been running rough so I decided to clean out the carbs before balancing them. I needed to replace a pilot jet in the rear carb and it behaved beautifully once I richened the mixture. The front carb was losing back pressure and causing backfires so I investigated the PAIR system. It uses an induction valve operated by vacuum from the front cylinder with the take off line on the inlet manifold. Once I removed the vacuum line from the induction valve and blocked it the bike ran like a dream, no backfire and carbs balanced perfectly.
My question is have any other Sachs owners removed this or do they know what bike it is off? It is a Denso valve operated by vacuum. I also removed the PAIR lines from the exhaust ports and fabricated two blanking plates.
I think the Suzuki 800s use a solenoid with a feed from the ECU whereas the Sachs uses a more antiquated and illogical system!

Hi Ron

I've done this on my Sachs Roadster 800. I used the PAIR blanking kit made for a VS800/VL800/VZ800 and it fit perfectly. The Valve an plumbing are in a box somewhere in case I have a pedantic MOT tester.
I cleaned out my carbs too, after my bike was sat for a while, and currently trying to unstick the from pilot screw.
These bikes have different carb settings to other suzuki 805cc engines (just look at the variety of factory setting variations for VX800 and you'll know what i mean), but I did buy a Sachs OEM workshop manual from their administrators. Most of the pics in there are from the VS800 manual, but I'll post a few pages from carb section next week.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one! I had to run the rear carb richer to get the balance correct on the Carbtune. Looking forward to the pics and thanks!
