Doing a service on the swingarm bearings and shaft drive and came across the location of the reg/rec unit.
Moved it out of the way from behind the engine /swingarm area and relocated it between the fusebox and rear brake master cylinder. Got to be a better place.

It is a bit random where they stuck it I only found where mine was the other day as had a wiring issue. Can't quite picture where you have moved it to but I would make sure it's still getting air to it as these can get hot an fail as a result. I relocated my gsxr reg/rec and it melted some foam padding in that area. just something to bare in mind.

Just adding one small note to an old post.
I just came on to look to ask if anyone knows where the hell it is located at, and I found this post.

Mine is a 1990 heavily customized bobber with no backend and forward controls and the headlights are useless as they can possibly be. I have put twin lights on and itys not helpedat all and so I got an LED headlamp and that too is not as good as it should be. The radiator fan spins up and when I put the lights on, the fan is audibly quieter and the whole electric system is poor at best.

So I went and bought myself a new Reg/Rec only to then realise that I cannot for the life of me find the original to replace it????

So its behind the engine under the shaft drive swing arm sort of area?

Im 95% sure that I looked around there, but hey ho.

My harley sportster had its one right at the front at the bottom... Well in teh dirt and muck, but at least in the cool wind I suppose?
