| If you look at the picture below you will see I have stuck led strips to my forks under the top yoke, the advantage fitting them there is that they come with 6 LED's, and when they rap around the forks you can see them flashing when your riding, so it would be virtually impossible to leave your indicators on by mistake, some lads may like that idea, extra indicators and a visual warning that they are on . | Thats is such a clever idea, yet again you have added another mod to my to do list. You are to be commended for coming up with such a clever idea that not only adds an extra set of indicators for the blind car drivers to see but also acts as a warning to the rider at the same time. This mod could potentially save lives | |

| When I first got my C50 my biggest concern was leaving the indicators on. I wired a loud beeper into the circuit but after a while that got annoying so I connected in a relay to the brake light circuit so that the beeper does not sound if a brake is applied. The relay uses the normally closed contact (this usually comes with the larger relays which have both the normally closed and normally open options) and the beeper is grounded through the normally closed relay until it is opened by the brake light application ungrounding and stopping the beeper. | |

| yes the LED idea is much better than the beeper I had considered doing.
Is is just a matter of splicing the LED wires into the indicator wiring on each side at the front?

Is is just a matter of splicing the LED wires into the indicator wiring on each side at the front? Yes. Just buy some 12v rated LEDs and splice them into the indicator wires... I have got a whole box of connectors if you want a couple. Here's my previous post: Just finished installing indicator repeats as suggested by Alfie...... they look really good. Thanks for the idea. I'm sure it will contribute to my safety as I'm always leaving the bl*@dy things on. Got little chrome-housed green leds from www.ultraleds.co.uk (next day delivery) and then extra wiring and shrink-wrap from Maplin. LEDs come with short tail wires so had to extend them by soldering longer lengths on, then shrink-wrap the lot. Connections made to the indicator wires within the headlamp with Sealey T-tap connectors (from www.ccw-tools.com) which seem brilliant......... snap over the wire you are connecting to and leaves a connection free to which you can insert a male spade terminal. This also means you can disconnect the accessory whilst leaving the original wire intact, if you need to in the future. Wires neatly run down exisiting cables with cable ties. PS If anyone needs some of the T-tap connectors (red) then I have a box of 46 left! I could always send out a few for cost etc; let me know! Search for "LED repeaters" and you will find the original thread.

I really like the beeper in addition to the extra led's. A couple of times I have gotten on the highway and opened it up only to hear my beeper, not having noticed the led's because I was looking ahead concentrating on the road and the vehicles around me. The beeper also means you don't have to glance down to check. I still like the led's as they let me check the turn signal is flashing the right way and in my case that the turn signal is on if a brake is applied (which in my case overides the beeper). To hear the beeper on the highway though you need a LOUD beeper.

| My bleeper is in the headlight bucket and is not all that loud so it doesn't bother me when at lights etc. Its not 100% guaranteed to get my attention but its an extra thing to get my attention. The led lights on the forks again is just another possibility that my attention will get drawn to forgotten indicators being left on & at a couple of £'s is a mod that I will do and I am greatfull that peter came up with the idea. Cheap mods that can save your life are worth a little time doing and are worth every penny, especially when they look nice as well! | |
