| Crickey that's a bummer, lucky you were able to fix the thread. That's the only way I have ever got them off do I guess I have been lucky in the past, because I just would never have given a second thought to where I was hitting the screw driver in to. | |

| Mal I know a couple of members bought up a few of the chrome ones a while back off of eBay, that's do much better with the socket attachment on them. They should all be like that as standard as that would make sense
Pete that's a good looking little tool, I bought a chain filter remover once and that was crap

If a bike has been serviced at a bike shop or the dealer they usually tighten it up too much.

| Wow that could so easily have been a real issue, glad you sorted it so easily. K&N is what I use now, I like the fact that the socket attachment is part of the design. | |

| Yes mate same one. I like the K&N filters because they have a nut on top to make fitting and extraction easy with a socket & wrench. K&N Part number: KN-138C .... Chrome K&N Part number: KN-138 .... Black E-bay LINK | |

| Little bit dearer than some filters but worth it for the piece of mind and with added bling, happy days | |
