| Hello it's me again . I fitted new bars on a Bandit a while back and filed off the locating pegs on the switch gear. They did not seem to twist and the clamps alone held everything in position. With my apes I envisged doing the same. I suppose it would be neater to drill new holes and enable accurate positioning but not sure whether drilling bars would be a good idea. Any thoughts on this? Ta! | |

| I can't see drilling a small hole for a locating pin being a problem, I've done both methods you mention without problems did you fit renthals on the bandit? | |

Well actually I got some lower chrome bars, cut of the pegs as above, fitted everything on, decided I did not like the position, took them back and got a refund saying they did not fit my bike! . Renthals would be nice mind. | |

| File off the locating tabs, never known there be an issue before. Much easier than drilling two holes in the tight places. | |

| I agree with Dave totally! All my classic bikes don't have locating pegs & I've never had any problems. | |

| Filed the pegs off mine - the problem is if you drill a locating hole, then decide that you want to change the positioning of the bars, you're stuck with the switchgear in the original position. When I swapped onto flat drags, I found that I altered the angle of the bars a few times before I was comfortable | |
