Is there a way to debaffle a 97 VZ800 but still have the option to put them back in?

Reason for this is I would really like to make the bike sound a bit louder but there's a yearly motorcycle technical inspection in my country where they will measure the exhaust sound wich has to be within factory limits.
So is there a way to just pop the baffles back in or do I get a second set of oem pipes tp switch out?

I don't know what size the Marauder silencers are but you can buy universal baffles from Ebay in various diameters. They are quite cheap. I bought a pair of 75mm ones for my C800 Intruder a few years ago for aound 10 euros each. You simply cut the old ones out using a plasma cutter if you have one or using a chisel/Dremel cutting disc if not. Then you insert the new baffle and hold in place with a single screw or bolt. You could wrap wadding around the centre of the baffle to make it really quiet if you wanted and remove it after the test. We do have noise regulations in the UK too but I've left the replacement baffle in without the silencing wadding so it's louder than original but not really loud. It's passed the test that way for the last six years running.

PostSubject: Filling in baffle holes   Rebaffle? Icon_minitimeMon Dec 27, 2021 12:35 pm

The fella I bought the bike from drilled 3 half inch holes in the baffles to make the bike louder. Loud is not really my style. Any ideas on how to fill in the holes?
