So you got those nice new shiny pipes you wanted for ages! Now the fun begins. You install them and wow, don't you just love the noise. Then like most of us you begin to think they might be just that bit too loud! Join the club. Whereas the stock pipes were pretty hard to open up the aftermarkets are a blank canvas on which you can begin to paint your ideal sound. You have complete control so why not have a go! I have been modding mine ever since I got them. The latest incarnation uses bits from my previous mods.

Inside each exhaust is a wire mesh with exhaust packing lining the pipes to give an nice 'dead' tone. The original baffles have been removed and in their place I have fixed a lollipop which serves 2 purposes:

i) To reduce the volume

ii) To maintain backpressure to give lots of torque

I fixed on my extension tips to conceal the internals

I'm in my reasonable phase at the moment. Nice and thuddy but not too loud:

Of couse if I want more noise but the same tone, then I can remove the lollipops. If I want to wake the dead - out comes the lot. It's all a question of being in control.....don't let the pipes dictate what sound you have....You are the boss!

I did a video of the pro pipe before and after putting wadding in, It sounds a little duller in the video but its a lot more acceptable whilst riding, I think it was louder than my SV before Aftermarket pipes - just the beginning! 249703

Its funny how a minor change at tick over can actually be a major one when the bike is riding under load.

There are various ways and it changes every time it seems, the 2 main ways are:
play the video & do a right click on the screen, then tap on "copy video URL at current time. Then go to preview button below where you normally "post to reply", this brings up the main window. You then look for the little window that looks like a photo negative reel & paste the URL you copied in to there. The other way is to copy the info from the task bar and do the same.
Some video's will not show a window in a post whatever you do.
