| Just wondering if anyone can advise…
When I got my ’96 VX800 the vacuum operated fuel pump was not attached, and there was nothing attached to the fuel tap either. Anyway, I managed to get the bike running using a separate fuel supply, with the vacuum hose for the fuel pump coming from the rear carb. But, the fuel tap also needs a vacuum hose… I can’t see anything on the front carb to provide a vacuum for the fuel tap – am I missing something ? Or do I just need to split the vacuum hose from the rear carb to supply the fuel pump and the petrol tap ? I have rigged up a ‘T’ connector to do this and it seems to work in the garage, but I don’t know if it will work on the road when the engine is under load… Anyone able to have a look at their set up and let me know... Thanks in advance | |

| Thanks Billybop 90, I've got the manual with these diagrams but I think my bike must have a different set up. There's no obvious vacuum line from the front carb like in the diagram... I'm going to just give it a try with the vacuum from my rear carb split to both the fuel pump and the fuel tap... Will update with results, not sure when that will be though ! | |

| Ah, OK. I was trying to get a picture of the set up but the bike is stored for the winter, about 15cm of snow on the ground and of course its between 2 other M/Cs which makes it harder to get to. Defintely keep us posted on your machine. Would like to see some pics of your bike as well. 1990 VX800, had since 1999. | |
