Well, completely failed in my attempt to change my handlebars today. Unbeknown to me, on the latest model of M800, the yoke has inserts pressed into the yoke that are designed to reduce vibration, i.e. ferrules encased in rubber. This severely reduces the options available for changing the risers.
I haven't given up, yet....

Graham, I'm pretty sure the C800 has those inserts in the top yolk as well, My bandit does too, How does this restrict your choice of risers?

The bolt sizes on the aftermarket risers are much too big to fit into the inserts.

That's a bummer then  New Bars................. 2013 M800 474255 The stock bolts on the C risers are M12 and both sets of after market risers I've had for mine have been M10 and needed a sleeve fitting to pack them out to 12mm, What size bolts are they on the M model out of curiosity?

When I originally fitted my risers I just made sure they were correctly placed as I reached the point of torquing down. Maybe I am just a bit to lazy compared to some.  New Bars................. 2013 M800 852880

I'm sure mine are M12 too, problem I've found is that all the aftermarket risers seem to have much larger bolts. I have purchased some now that you can put a smaller bolt in so, I will fit the largest that the sleeve will accommodate. The only consideration is how to correctly line up the risers if the bolt is not captive. The bars need to sit in the risers absolutely perfectly and if I use an Allen headed bolt I risk the riser twisting when tightening up the bolt, it only has to move a fraction before the risers would not be aligned. I did consider getting the bolt spot welded in the riser body but, of course they are aluminium and the bolt steel! I'll find a way I'm sure!

I just wrapped some electrical tape around the bolts to give them the same diameter as the originals at first Graham, That gets them central in the yoke and stops them twisting, Then I got 2, M10 Rawl bolts and took the sleeve off and cut them down to the thickness of the yoke and slid them over the bolt to pack it out to 12mm as a more solid result, although they seemed fine with tape packing them out.

I cant see any reason why not, unless there was a triple tree change on later models. Cant see it tho, good luck  New Bars................. 2013 M800 184121345
