| Get ready to hold ya sides as you might end up laughing ya heads of when you have finished rerading this. Been reading the link, with interest about the dual font discs. As we all aware the Rear break on the Intruder is a bit pump. So it got me to thinking (with my VERY limited knowledage of this bike). As a lot of members have done the 1400 diff mod, could you not just swap the arse end over compleatly ie: swing arm, diff wheel, shocker, ect. This would mean that the rear brake with come with it as well. TA DA no drum brake anymore!!!? So now that you have dried ya eyes after the laughter, is this even remotely possible?? | |

| Not sure to be honest,I know that the shaft off the 1400 is a lot smaller in length, but with swapping the lot it may fit.Worth while asking about, for the rear brake as you say is just about there,I only try and use it on any bike doing less that 20mph,before that it is mainly the front brake, and engine. | |

| To much work involved, 1400 has dual shocks not mono shock, swing arms a lot shorter, 1500 has alloy wheels that are completely different to the 800, so you'd have to change the front as well, which is a double disc set up, and that's before you start to try and marry either back end up, It'd be cheaper to buy a 1500. Nice idea though | |

| Just checked wheelbases and all three are different as well, and the overall length. | |

| I mentioned i'm swapping my spoked wheels for cast vz/m800 ones & i also mentioned about using a 1500 front set up but i'll wait till Steen has done his conversion. I'm getting used to the single disc/drum brake as it's a set up i remember from my gt380 years so i'm happy using it. Seems a lot of folk are used to superbike disc brakes & don't think there will be any difference, oops! I asked Dave a long time ago about a 2nd disc & he stated it could not be done so unless you do a swap as i said for a 1500 front end complete you'll get nowhere as the standard wire wheels & the cast one's cannot be modified for a second disc. Possibly a 6 pot Billet caliper could be grafted on? | |

| You could make a moped rear end fit on a cars front end if you really wanted to. Anything can be done but some things just ain't worth the engineering and hassle involved. | |

| Agreed Dave. I do not see how a VZ front end left side fork leg can be modified unless you do a back to front set up as I suggested last year with one caliper in front & one behind but then how would you modify the front wheel? As I said I'll wait & see Steen's set up I think. | |
