PostSubject: raked triple tree.   raked triple tree. Icon_minitimeFri May 09, 2014 3:46 pm

Been thinking about what to do with the VZ800 when i get the pipes fitted. Been changing stuff all over the bike so there aint much left to do. Then all of the sudden it struck me.... why not change the triple tree to a raked one. Lets say 6-9degrees.
As i understood it  that kind of  with that kind of rake i must lengthen the forks by 4" or lower the rear 1" to keep the symmetry of the bike.
There is two ways to go with the raking.
1. change the triple tree to a raked one, or 2, go for a set of raked steering bearings.

If i go for the raked triple tree it would be kick ass if there was a kit already done for it. Does anyone know if the triple tree from a M/C/V800(50) will fit straight on the VZ ?
Or can someone with the model help me with some measuring of the triple tree and i can compare them to the one i have fitted.

As lengthening of the forks i was thinking about making/buying a 41mm axel that will fit to the threads of the fork covers that is to day and just screw them tight. Since the area where it is lengthened will nog go outside the triple trees  i think it will be strong enough to hold the force.
Is the forks for the M/C/V800(50) the same as the ones on the VZ800?

Knowledge or suggestions or solutions are appreciated as usual;)

I can give you the measurements of the C800 if you say where to measure?
These are pricey but worth a look at for idea's

Thanks simbo.

What i need is size of the shaft, fork diameter (guess it is the same as on the VZ, 41mm), distance between the forks/or the center to center between the forks and height between the upper and lower triple tree.
Think that will cover it.

The shaft that goes through the Headstock is 30mm (ish, can't get my head under properly), 41mm forks, Centre to centre of forks 240mm, top and bottom triple tree's are 30mm thick, Headstock length is 185mm. Anything more just ask  raked triple tree. 3498837457

Your welcome twenty2  raked triple tree. 3498837457  I keep looking at the 4" fork extensions for mine, Once I get some free time to figure out a way to strengthen the joint I may just take the plunge.

I have an idea to make two pipes tjat have the same lenght as the distance between the upper and lower triple tree, and the inner diameter of 41mm. And outlet diameter of 46mm ir so. And just let the forks run through them. That would give the joint more strenght than needed. And it will also give it a more solid and brutal look Wink
