Question about the top yoke C800/Vl800 - M800/VZ800 Empty
PostSubject: Question about the top yoke C800/Vl800 - M800/VZ800   Question about the top yoke C800/Vl800 - M800/VZ800 Icon_minitimeSun Oct 12, 2014 9:30 pm

I am thinking of doing some bits and bobs to my bike is the top yoke the same on a c800/vl800 as on the m800 bike is a 2009 model the one without the cowling round the headlight would the holes that the risers bolt through be the same size?

Thanks

I'd say the top yolk on the Fishtail M800 model is very similar if not the same to the VL top yolk (from seeing Mal's) the only difference I would imagine is the size of the fork clamps due to the upside down forks, the riser bolts are 12mm on the VL and I'd say the same for the M800 too, Could be worth being confirmed first though.

Just spoke with Dave (Mr Intruder) he has just told me that the yoke is not the same on the two bikes. He will be on later this evening if you need more information about it

it's just the holes really I have seen some risers that I like but it just says that they fit m50 boulevard  or American c50..... so I was just trying to find out whether they would fit on to a m800 would a 59 plate 800 be a vz800 or a m800 would it be the same as the m50 all gets a bit tricky as there is quite a few types of potentially the same bike (same engine anyway)  I might try sending an email to the place that is selling them and try to find out. If it's not the same I might have to look in to drilling it out so that the risers will fit

I am not guaranteeing this info at all but I believe the riser bolts on the C800 are bigger than the M800.

Confirmed Question about the top yoke C800/Vl800 - M800/VZ800 2215087486

I looked at the risers I got with the VL800 handlebars, and they use bigger bolts compared to my M800.

I just measured to make sure, and the 2007 M800 uses 10mm bolts, and the rises I got from a VL800 uses 14mm bolts.

Just read through the whole thread and it seems I was right to ring Dave on you behalf after all, different yokes, different risers, different bolt lengths and different bolt sizes and bolt holes. In fact nothing the same in that area, you may be able to mod it but others may not, so all the info is needed where possible because others will read it at another time. I think it sounds more complicated than it will be when said like that Crash hehehe I hope lol gunna give it a go anyway spoze I've just got to pick whether I want to fit one inch bar or seven eighth's this could become a pain in the arse lol I'm not the best at picking what I want in fact when I walk in to a shop for a chocolate bar I normally just narrow down my choice then by two or three it's quicker hahahaha

O no I think I have met my long lost twin brother  hyst I think from what I have read you may be better of picking your bars and then picking your risers but saying that tho most bars are going to be available in both sizes I would of thought

I've seen some really nice bars would be easier to get risers that original bars will fit strait in to so I can fit them  then I can get all the other bits as I go along grips, mirrors the bars them self...... otherwise there will be a large amount of cash needed to do it all at once.

what size are the stock bars?

well should be picking up bike tomorrow so I can find out then

hehehe yeh I'm on the way to getting this mod done Mal well I've ordered the riser's today for a start on it anyway lol I'll see what they look like when they arrive but I think I may need longer cables if that is the case I will wait till I get cables, new bars then do it all at the same time might be a little while till I get all the bits lol
