| Bit random - but does anyone whether the seat from a 2013 C800 will fit a 2001 VL 800 ? There is a reason for this question

| Hi Dave, Tricky question? My answer will be yes it will fit because my profiler seat is listed as 01 to 08 yet it fits my 09, Suzuki changed the fenders and metal frame underneath in 2009 but all the bolt holes are in the same place, I'm not sure you could mix n match though? ie 03 rider seat with 09 pillion seat, I think the lugs that slip into each other might be slightly different? If you show me a picture of yours, I'll show you a picture of mine, seat that is | |

| I believe there is a very big difference in the mounting holes at the rear of the riders seat. | |

| The seats pretty much the same Dave, They've made slight changes to the brackets and seat pan but they go in the same positions from what I can gather, It'd be nice to actually confirm if they'd fit. 03 seat 09 seat | |

| I could be wrong but I thought the central securing bolt holes were slightly out of position between the early & later years? Could be an oppertunity to get the tape measure out Sim. | |

| Thanks for that lads. I've asked the seller to measure the hole centres & width & length of the seat. If it's close, I'll have & update you | |

03 seat
09 seat
Hi Sim Where do the "square corners" (by the rear bracket") on the '09 seat rest? What I mean, are the corners just like a thickened out section of the '01 seat or do they accommodate something ? Does that make sense - looking at the two photos, the base pan appears to be almost identical apart from a small area around the metal bracket. Cheers | |

| Hi Dave, It's just a widened bracket it's doing nothing other than holding the seat down. | |

| This is most confusing, I had read that the older seats do not fit after a particular year. I wonder why that was written, badly informed people possibly. | |

| Ken I have read similar on the Yanky sites, could be different over there but I can't see why? | |

| I've noticed your new seat Dave (very nice I might add too!) and I was wondering, did you ever get to the bottom of this query for year specific seats? | |

| Yeh - I'm well chuffed with the new one
Never did find out one way or another - in the end it looked like it would fit, but as the trim man said he'd have mine done in a week (actually six days, including a weekend), it didn't seem worth it. I will pop over to Pete (peardrop3) one day & see if they'll swap over.
I'll post the results | |
