| One of these you mean? they'll fit but I've no idea what size they are?, you'll probably find a cheaper one if you search VL800 oil filter wrench.

| Hand and thin rubber glove, apply hand to filter, grip tightly and twist until the veins are popping out your neck or filter loosens .. | |

| Thanks guys but I've had to put a screwdriver through it, it still would not budge, ended up using a cold chisel to free it. Suzuki done the service, they must have tightened it with a 10 foot bar and NO oil on the rubber seal ,s | |

| K&N oil filters have a nut welded on the top of the filter... such a good idea; makes removal/installation a breeze. Only about £10 a go.http://www.knfilters.co.uk/motorcycle_oil_filters.aspx | |

| Thanks all, it is a 68mm, 14 flute wrench & I obtained one for £7.00. Do your own servicing guys, don't rely on anyone else, this was a totally avoidable problem resulting from no oil on the 'O' ring and over-tightening the filter way too much by the so called "experts" | |

| I use a leather strapped jar opening device I got in a local shop , cheaper than any purpose built filter removal tool .works a treat | |

| Yep, the 'jar strap' is a cheap alternative, but might not cope with an over-tightened oil filter as mentioned by John above.
Interestingly, I followed the 'Suzuki' instructions for tightening the oil filter on the 'VX' & it seemed to require a tightness level above what I would have 'guessed' from experience ! - There is no excuse for not lubricating the 'O'-ring with fresh oil on assembly though. | |
