My Home made VL800 Rack

Here is the rack my mate made for me. Made from mild steel and damn good. Not bad for £20. I've just emailed Ashford Chroming for a price for it to be chromed hence the tape measure.

I was going to just paint it black with Hammerite but as it's attatching on the outside of the sissy bar I thought it would look a bit shit.

Well it's going to be painted by me instead. £220 to have it chromed

Wilkinson's chrome spray is pretty authentic - you could try it on a bit of spare metal first - just a thought.

I think that chrome paint can look quite good & have used it myself but I wonder how good it would look when it's attached to real chrome?

I agree with Blues & with Mr I, Hmmmmm how confusing

Take care for racks are for use,get the best paint you can to save it chipping,otherwise you will see your a*** with the finish,after a season of using it.

220 pounds to chrome that little thing, those chromer folks must be nuts! It might look nice powder coated. a lot cheaper too.
