| Hi there,
This afternoon I was cruising in the nearby villages. I've stopped for a minute or two and the bike was just dead. It turned out that the battery suddenly died. Luckily it didn't happen last week when I was in a tour at the mountains of Tatra. It was two years old and really took care of it. This morning I did measure it was 12.7V and now it's wreck.
It was an hour of misery I was pushing the bike to a main road (slight uphill...) where the very first biker stopped immediately! I always feel thankful about our society of bikers! Guess what he pulled out from his backpack! A brand new battery he just bought!!! :) I've bought it from him so that I could come home.
It fits, just the height is 2cm smaller. And the thing is that the manual recommends the FTX12-BS and that has a maximum starting current 150 A. My old battery had 180 A. This new one is only 120 A. Do you think it's a problem? I mean will it die faster? I don't want to break down again:) Better to replace it? The bike started up fine (tried only twice).
Thanks and greetings, Tamás | |

| Hi Tom, I'm not sure? I'd have guessed it would start your bike ok if the weather is reasonable warm and your bike starts pretty quickly, However, if it's cold and your bike takes a good few turns to get it to fire up I'd think the battery (120a) would go flat pretty quickly. Anyone else have any knowledge on these matters? | |

| I had to buy a battery to get me home like you it hadnt got the cold crank power of original so I replaced with a better ah than the original Still got the one I had to buy to get home keep it in good nick and take it out with me in case meet someone in need. my thinking is it will be lacking in the grunt you need when the colder weather kicks in for peace of mind I replaced mine | |

| Yep, I agree. You're right that now it was ideal conditions like summer weather, already warm engine. Might not do the job in November. Already bought one with 180 Amps:) | |
