| Hi, just taken pair off as per Moccasins site (awesome by the way)..anyhow,I got rid of the ugly lump on the side by linking up the two pipes with one tube length and a 15mm top length of a s/steel drill bit of the right diameter blocking it,a bit more solid than the golf tee recommended, but the same deal!..Problem is the fuel injection warning light kept coming on a week later, i`ve done a quite a few mods around the same time so after a lot of headscratching and tinkering I took it to my local bike shop who pluged in the laptop. Turned out the solinoid from the pair valve had packed up,fitted a resistor in its place and all good.. PAIR SOLINOID SENSOR; 0.5W metalfilm 4K7 oham resistor to fool the FI, soldered between the cables that used to go to solinoid (saves space too) there was carbon and ceramic resistors in the shop which I also got as there real cheap..dont know which is best? metal film was the first fitted, worked,so stuck with it (sure someone will advise) On my quest to get rid of the dreaded FI light I also found out about an easy fix for the O2 sensor, not tried it myself as I pulled the O2 pin at the ecu, but if your O2 sensor is giving you problems and you dont want to drill a hole in your after market pipes or route around your ECU. I was told by bike mechanic, a 330k resistor in place of the sensor will keep the computer happy.Personally I wouldnt do this without a power commander/cobra ect to run the show. Perhaps someone`s tried it and can comment? | |

For what you are doing you could use carbon or metal film resistor it won't make any real difference. Main difference for this purpose is tolerance and package size and in this case it won't make any difference. | |
