| Hi I don't seem to be able to get a consistent clutch cable adjustment at the lever on the VX. I follow the manual when i adjust the clutch.....it just seems a bit weird that you have to end up with the correct adjustment at the lever when it's cable adjustment is screwed all the way in .....by adjusting the cable at the engine casing. It seems that to get the right adjustment at the lever the clutch is slightly operated due to the adjuster at the engine casing being wound out so far. What I noticed is the the "worm drive" adjustment is worn.....it has side to side play when you operate the clutch. If I get a good adjustment of the cable...the cable play seems to increase a bit each time I use the clutch. The first few gears "clunk" a bit when engaging and the clutch tends to engage near the end of the lever travel. I've only ridden the bike a few times so I'm still getting used to it. Cheers | |

| Hi, I may be misunderstanding but if you have play at the lever, how can the clutch be 'slightly operated', (by 'slightly operated' I assume you mean slightly disengaged). Regards, Mick | |

| Hi Again, I'm guessing you're looking at the owner's manual. There is a more detailed procedure in the workshop manual which might help. I can copy it out for you if you don't have one. Regards, Mick | |
