| Planning to take my VZ800 K8 (2008) to France this June and need to sort out luggage. I have been searching in vain for a suitable rear rack (ideally without sissy bar) for the bike. Also I will need throw-over panniers and guess I will need side guards.
Does anyone have any recommendations for hardware?
Thanks! | |

I posted it as a possible alternative because it is cheap but that is actually a Suzuki bar And yes I agree Highway Hawk stuff is a load of Shite, I am constantly polishing my HH stuff to hold back the rust, I will never buy Highway Hawk stuff again. Total FEKIN CRAP!

| I have the OEM sissy bar and rack on my M50 it's billet aluminium so there is no rust. You can fit the bracket and rack without the sissy bar and all of the bits are sold seperately. Unfortunately it costs a fortune. I have a leather crate on mine that is great for touring. It has a loop that slips over the sissy bar and a couple of leather tie tie downs. Very easy to put on and remove for overnights and it has a pile of D rings to attach strechies for sleeping bags etc. Ebay is your friend for all of these bits. | |

| Found this....... fits the bill perfectly I think and for under £120 http://www.hepco-and-becker-luggage.co.uk/library/pdfs/65035060102.pdf
Also need to fit side supports for soft panniers, put a hump pack on the pillion seat and strap tent/sleeping bag to rack.

| Side guards are not always needed, get the panniers first and see how they sit.You can always fabricate a peice of steel or wood in the pannier to keep them solid. | |
