I just fitted the spike cone filter yesterday, and it was a bit of work because I wanted to mount it as high as possibly to get out of the way of my leg.

I still need to clean up the brackets and paint them, but a few things bothered me with this filter.

1. The filter it self seems a little loose, and can move around in there cone housing.
I think it could be fixed by putting a bit of foam in front of the filter, to slightly press it back.

2. There is no gasket between the cone housing and the pipe bend, only three small pilot screws.

Did you have the same issues, and did you do anything to correct them ?

I have mine and as far as I know everyone has it fitted in the same position. So I am unsure of what you mean by: 'it was a bit of work because I wanted to mount it as high as possibly to get out of the way of my leg'. Maybe my memory isn't what it once was.  Chromed Spiked Cone Air Filter From Suzuki M109 - C800 Conversion - Page 3 852880

1. My filter is not very tight in the cone but does not move on its own, seems to fit fine. If yours is moving on its own, or can move with very little resistance, I would suggest: Either, making a gasket or putting a smearing of silicon between the faces.

2. Mine is the same but seemed a good enough fit that I decided it was OK to be left. Others may have different opinions to me.

I cut about 15mm of the tube part of the aluminum connector, that goes into the rubber boot under the tank.
This meant I couldn't angle it very much to keep the filter from pointing slightly down, making the two small brackets a lot of trial and error bending Chromed Spiked Cone Air Filter From Suzuki M109 - C800 Conversion - Page 3 410694

I have fixed the issues mentioned earlier, with a bit of foam and a rubber strip around the inside of the cone.

After test driving today, these are my findings:

1. Induction noise is much lower than the Naked Jugs filter.

2. Maybe low rpm torque is a bit improved, and it has suffered a bit in the higher rpm. This makes me think the Naked Jugs filter is the least restrictive filter possible.

3. There is no problem with leg room, as my leg hardly touches it.

4. IT LOOKS BLOODY COOL !!!!!!! and I will for sure keep it on the bike.

Nah, it's not that bad a quality considering the price of the kit, and now I have an extra filter.......

Hmm... What to do with that, "said out loud while looking over at the old Virago wreck" sssmily

I would love to see that Sir. Having one in a box, looking pretty but hidden by a lid, is sad.
