Was looking at screens on Egay...my screen is a bit on the small side and doesn't give much protection.
But all very pricey.
So had a Google and found a supplier of cut to size plastic in Leeds ( 12 miles away ). £10 for a piece of 500mm x 500mm x 3mm polycarbonate.
Couple of hours drilling, sawing and filing and now have larger screen using original frame If its dry I'll test it tomorrow ( hope 3mm in thick enough )

| Sounds like a good call! Does the metalwork pull the Perspex into a slight curve? If so that would make it stronger than just a flat plane I'm guessing.... | |

| Alfie heres hoping.... shows old screen on top of new. Took old screen off the frame and used it to mark out mounting holes for drilling. Used various paint tins and pans to draw round to get the curves and cut them out with a coping saw with fine teeth. Then various files to clean up the cuts and finally sandpaper to smooth ( dont get sanpaper in wrong place as leaves a horrible scratch. Note should have asked Sim at the start 4mm would have been better than the 3mm...but I'll see how it goes. If I have to redo it 4mm at £10 its not the end of the world. | |

| Looking good Alan, be interesting the differences found after a test run. Fitting some home made lowers to that screen will stop any wind in a massive way. Good thinking that. | |

| Cheers Mr Intruder and Co...........Had the test run....better than small screen...less wind on chest and arms plus no dreaded head rattling.
Screen vibrates at tick over but o.k. at speed... 70 on motorway...no flexing or bending...I think I will get away with the 3 mm thickness.

| I wonder how would a DIY screen work if it was cut out in a pattern... ie. flames :) | |
