| If you get the throwover type, they fit under your rear seat,if you look at a set of brackets to stop them flying around, you will need longer bolts than the ones you have fitted at the moment, you may as well go for cheaper range of brackets as their purpose is minimal, basicly all they do is give you somewere to tie your bag to to stop it from going into your rear wheel or flapping about whilst you are riding. | |

| Hi Birb these are what most people use, they come supllied with the longer bolts required to fit them and then you leave them on all the time even if the bags have been taken off LINK Leather bags can be rather expensive but you can get some really good fake leather bags for not a lot of money. A few guys on here have them so hopefully they will throw a few links in. | |

| Mainly price I think. I bought leather bags as it was the first bags I ever bought and just presumed they would be better. If I was going to buy again, I would buy tech leather. I didn't buy the very expensive leather bags, mine only cost about £180 or so but there are good tech bags out there for around the £60 - £70 mark. Others may feel differently but that's my view. | |

| These are pretty good bags, hold there shape due to having a metal frame inside and fibreglass back for fixing to the bike, loads of different types and prices, USA based but I've emailed them before and they ship to Europe. http://www.vikingbags.com/ | |

| Klick Bags were my choice. On and off in seconds and a neat fixing plate. Custom cruisers supplied. | |

| Hi Azcam I bought a similar cheapo chinese set off Fleabay. I like the fact they give me extra lighting, I also like the fact they lock, so I can permanently leave a few odds & sods in there.
The ones I've got hold less than I'd expected, so do check the size & try & visualise them on your bike.
Before I got mine, I'd used a pair of regular small leather saddle bags - the type that trap the centre 'flap' under the pillion seat. Even with a set of 'hold off' frames to stop them flopping into the wheel, they still caused some mild scuffing to the rear fender.
So overall I like the rigid types best.
TOP TIP: if you go for the ones you posted - or any sort that has some kind of frame or bracket bolted via the fender bolts, UNDO THE BOLTS ONE AT A TIME !!! Not even ONE SIDE AT A TIME - but literally one bolt at a time - take it out, fit the metalwork, loosely tighten it, then move on to the next one.
Otherwise the whole fender/bolt/frame setup can twist a mill out of alignment & be a real pig to get back in.
ALSO... on each side, one bolt has a nut which you have to fiddle a spanner on to inside the fender, and the other goes into a threaded hole, so no spanner required.
good luck! | |
