| well being just about to pull the trigger on the c800, I can start my fourth favourite passtime (can't ride the bike i have, mrs is at work, and i'm on a conference call so can't go to the pub) ...... planning mods :)
i've been trawling the members pics on the forum (some lovely rides on here guys) and winding my way around the internet to see whats out there.
I'm thinking BLACK, all black, nothing but black, with all the black bits dark black, and everything else black, and i'm thinking the quick return plus power mods (airfilter maybe a couple of other bits) oh yeah and single seat.
found pipes, can powder coat chrome. seat cowl is astoundingly cheap (last one i bought for the yamaha was an aftermarket and 3 times the price of the genuine zuki one)
now of course when i get it, i'll abandon all these plans if its sunny and ride round with a stupid grin on my face until it starts raining.....but lets see how much of this i actually get done from the blank canvas stage.
any and all opinions, comments, advice, links, etc welcome,

| Black does seem to be the new black of late, Chrome is nice but gets a bit boring cleaning it all the time. The good thing with these bikes is that they have more aftermarket parts than you can shake a stick at and they can be modified in a thousand and one different ways, the members showroom is testament to this. Sadly a lot of guys that do make changes don't update their showroom area's with new pictures but its sill a great place for inspiration. The main thing to remember is that you will from this day forward have an empty wallet as there will always be something new and shiny waiting in the wings that you really really need for your new baby. | |

| A lot of the enjoyment is in the moding of these machines, then riding with a bigger smile on your face. | |

| A good plan is too decide what you want to do with it, and the first step of that is to ride it a bit. Until you do that you risk doing something you undo or at least change. Cheaper (but not as much fun) to do it right the frist time. Mod it. mod it ,mod it though anyway. | |

| Take your time there is only so much money in the bank, unless your called Simbo. Modding these bikes can be an endless pit because there are so many parts available. When you start searching you will find bits you didn't know you wanted, then another, then another and so on. Build a wish list before you start spending and you will quickly see the part that was at number one will quickly get replaced by another. Take your time and spend your cash wisely or you will find your bike becomes an endless pit for cash. I have loads of parts either hung up or boxed because another one has replaced it shortly after. For instance I have so far bought 4 different sets of mirrors for my bike but am currently using the stock ones. spend wisely and enjoy. | |

| its a fair point, and something i haven't really come up against in my last couple of bikes (mt-01, gsxr hardtail chop) as there either hasn't been much available for them, or its been so expensive that its been a one shot deal.
that said, i do still have several boxed R1 bits in the garage including 2 exhausts if memory serves...maybe i can sell some to fund the new boxes to sit in the garage :)
