| When I fitted the new front & rear guards last year, I just had my cousin waft 'em over with some flat black (along with the speedo housing, air filter cover & front indicator cover) till I could decide which way I was going with the paint. As the original paintwork was only meant to be short term & done within a limited time-frame, it was literally just a flat black coating, without much prep-work on the chrome bits. The speedo housing & front indicator had picked up a couple of chips, as had the front guard. so I decided to have them re-sprayed. As the had bike moved on with the flat drag bars & now the chopped pipes, I've decided that the all-over black look actually suits it & if I start complicating the paintwork, I'm in danger of losing the "lean" look I'm after. " /> With that in mind, I've gone for more of the same - picked this lot up this afternoon. I've had all the original stuff re-done, as well as the side panels (spares off ebay) " /> However, Rich has now had time to prep it all properly & the chrome finish has been peeled off to give the paint a proper key on the surface. Rather than go for flat black again, he's used a satin black which has the been over-laid with a silver metal flake lacquer, with a very heavily textured surface - you can feel it as you run your fingers over it, it's almost orange peel. " /> " /> The pictures do not do it justice at all - as the light catches it, you really see the metal flake. I still have to finish cleaning the wheels so it won't be going on just yet. | |

When its complete I wonder which company will use it to "sell" their stuff, very smart finish. That'll be "HeadBlade" in The States. They send me shit loads of their stuff & gave me permission to use their logo on my speedo face | |
