| Well this is exactly what it says it is. I don't like spending money on these little things I feel I can do on my own, so naturally I have some pretty crazy ideas flowing out of my head with my Marauder. I removed my PAIR Valve using only the tools necessary to remove the assembly and wire cutters to help "crimp" the ends of the tubes that connect to the Jugs. I left about an inch of space in the tube from the bolt head holes and pinched it together as closed as i could get it. Then i cleaned out all the carbon from inside the tube, dried it under heat(torch), re-cleaned with a rag, and filled the tube with JB Weld, a strong two part heat-resistant epoxy. I also used some on the tip of the crimped tube to smooth it out a little. Doesn't look as good as its $20 removal kit counterpart, but works just as well. As for the small air tube that comes from the middle carb/air line, I cut it and left about 1.5 inches of extra tube hanging off, and stuck a broken old mini-screwdriver head in the excess and put the stock clamp back on, presto! So those 3 bolt holes are your only issue now. As you can see on mine, I used the PAIR Valve box cover screws with the hex heads and they fit right in....looks kinda pretty too, the third was just a random bolt i had to find, the threads didn't match but as its only for looks and really just can't fall out, I cross threaded the bolt and snugged her right in. I know this kit was cheap, but hey, now its even cheaper. | |

| Good write-up Josh. I followed this guys instructions Moccasin Mike to remove the PAIR valve from my '01 Volusia. Went as far as Step 2, couldn't really see the point of a complete removal - really neatens up the side - simple mod well worth doing. " /> | |
