Engine timing

Hi I've bought a 97 vz800 marauder with the engine in bits crankshaft was damaged so I've replaced it ,I'm looking for advice on setting the timing up bought a Haynes manual tried it a few ways but with no luck any help is appreciated thanks

Somewhere on one of these forums I came across a factory service manual in PDF , it might even be this site, anyway if you can't find it I'd be happy to email it to you, I've PM'd you to that effect.
