| Thats very clever indeed, your very ingenious with your posts Its amazing how members such as yourself have the forethought to visualise such modifications. That mod alone is a great money saver. Are the panniers held sturdy with just the two brackets? | |

No, there's a rail at the bottom that two hooks go over and at the lower rear is a draw catch to lock it solid. Then the pannier lights are hooked up with a QD trailer connector. I thought I had some pics of all that but can't find them so I'll see if I can take some new ones later. It takes only seconds to pop a pannier off. These panniers were ancient ones with a rusty formerly chrome frame that wrapped around them. I installed rear crash bars to protect them. There's an outfit in Germany that sells crash bars to fit these bikes (expensive) but if you can make your own mounting brackets you can use just about any crash bar as long as it isn't taller than 300mm (275mm is better). I think mine were for a small Yamaha. | |
